Catlingo — Terms of Service

Effective date: 19 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Catlingo mobile application (the “app”). By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Catlingo interprets your cat. From short camera clips it estimates your cat’s mood and intent and writes a line in your cat’s voice, alongside the cues it was based on. It is an interpretation for entertainment and curiosity, not a literal translation — cats have no language to translate. The app is provided as-is and may change over time.

2. How it works — your clips are processed online

Reading a clip happens on our server, not on your phone. When you start a listening session, the app records short video-and-audio clips and sends them, together with your cat’s profile, to our server and to a third-party AI model (Google Gemini). Clips are deleted from your device once sent and are not stored by us. By starting a session you agree to this processing. Details are in the Privacy Policy. Only record where you are entitled to, and be considerate of other people who may be seen or heard.

3. Who can use the app

4. Not veterinary advice

Catlingo is not a veterinary or diagnostic tool. It does not detect pain, illness or distress, and nothing it shows — including its articles — is a diagnosis or a substitute for professional advice. If you are worried about your cat’s health or behaviour, consult a qualified veterinarian. You use the app at your own risk.

5. AI-generated content

Readings and captions are produced by an AI model and can be wrong. When the app is unsure it says so. Do not rely on a reading for any decision about your cat’s care.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Readings are subject to a daily fair-use limit per account.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Some or all features may require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed through your Apple App Store account and are subject to Apple’s terms. Price, billing period and any free trial or introductory offer are shown in the app before you purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.

8. Intellectual property

The Catlingo name, software and design are owned by us. You keep ownership of the content you provide (cat profiles, photos). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and process it solely to operate the app for you.

9. Suspension, termination and deleting your data

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that breach these terms or put the service at risk. You can stop using the app at any time and erase your data in the app under Profile → Delete my data, or by emailing yucat.app@gmail.com.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of readings, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars (USD 50), whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, including any harm to a cat resulting from reliance on the app.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always at this URL with the effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app.
